Our Courses
Construction Planning
Module 1
Prior to using programming software and regardless of the type of software being used, a plan for how the job will be executed must be created. To ensure the success of the project, it is crucial that the planning process is thoroughly considered. After all, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Course Content:
Construction Methodology (formwork systems, pre-casting, sequencing, direction of work, and site establishment)
Materials handling strategy (cranes, scaffolding, screens, loading platforms, hoists, and concrete pumping)
MS Project Programming 1
Module 2
In this course, the trainers dive into how to create a detailed construction programme using MS Project. Useful processes and tools are explained and supported with the demonstration of live construction programs.
Course Content:
Introduction to programming - what, why, when, and how
Calculation of network, explaining terms such as free float, and total float
How to properly establish and adjust a project calendar
Building the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Listing activities & milestones and calculating durations
Linking between activities & milestones
Identifying and adjusting the project critical path(s)
MS Project Programming 2
Module 3
This course is a continuation of MS Project Programming 1 where those learnings are expanded upon and further tools and topics are covered.
Course Content:
Using filters, formatting the programme to personalise
Loading resources onto the programme
Saving a baseline, comparing to original plan
Statusing and updating the programme
Making changes to the programme as necessary
